Why is Social Media Important for Your Business?

For any business, large or small, it's very important to use social media to promote your company and expand your following. By expanding your following, you can find and attract new customers and ultimately create new business. As a business, it's important to realize that different social media platforms bring in different types of people, and knowing which platform is right for your business is crucial. Here is an overview of the main social platforms, how they can benefit your business, and what types of audiences you can attract through them.

  • Facebook- Facebook is one of the most popular social media networks. When it's used correctly, a Facebook page can be valuable to small businesses. You can use Facebook to share photos or important company updates. You can also create a business account where you have access to advertising tools and in-depth analytics. You can highlight information such as your contact information, hours of operation, the products and services you offer, etc. A lot of young people aren't typically on Facebook anymore so with facebook you are more likely to reach people aged 30+ with this Network.
  • Instagram- With tools such as Instagram Live and Instagram Stories, there is no end to the tools businesses can use to promote their services and products. Instagram is an almost purely visual platform that’s based entirely on photo and video posts. This platform is almost entirely mobile which is becoming extremely common. It's important that the person running your account has a good eye for detail and at least basic photography skills, so the photos and videos posted to your account are high-quality and attention-grabbing. With Instagram, you are likely to reach people 35 and younger.
  • Twitter- Twitter is great for short updates and sharing links to blog posts,  you can share short tweets, 240 characters at most, videos, images, links, polls, etc. It’s also easy to interact with users on this platform by mentioning users in your posts along with liking, retweeting and using hashtags. Twitter's main audience is people aged 19-29, but there are also trends with those between 30 and 29.
Hopefully, with this information, you will be able to create a more successful business page for your company, and reach new customers!
