Ohio Northern Social Media Workshop

This last Friday, March 22, I had the pleasure of attending the social media workshop at Ohio Northern. There were many great speakers and opportunities to learn a lot of new strategies for building your company's social media brand.

Image result for social mediaI had the chance to hear from a few really great speakers but I am going to focus on Mary Jo DiSalvo and Sara O'Malley's presentation. O'Malley and DiSalvo work for the Dublin Irish Festival that takes place every year in Dublin, Ohio. The premise of their presentation was how they were able to grow their festival from the location the size of a tennis court to a nearly 40-acre venue.

They explained their use of connections and promoting other companies. They were able to show how much drive and success you can get just by promoting along with other events and people. For example, they often partner with the Blue Jackets and other local places year around to gain attention to their festival.

They also stressed the importance of making sure when partnering with other people, you promote them year around not just in the few months getting close to your event.

I learned a lot in this presentation and O'Malley and DiSalvo were great speakers, and were very informative!
