Making the Best of Your Channel

Many people do not truly see the perks or the need for YouTube as a social media when they are creating profiles for their businesses. What these people don't know is YouTube is one of the fastest growing platforms out there right now, and making your channel attractive and wanting people to come back for more is extremely important.

After reading through chapter eight of Guy Kawasaki's, The Art of Social Media, I have new insight into how to make my channel more attractive. Kawasaki suggests that you create a custom channel trailer, do live streams, and not to wear patterned or striped clothing. All of these things are things I have seen on successful YouTube channels either for personal use and for companies.

I have seen all of these tools make a channel more appealing, trailers for your channel can make a personal or company branding a lot more appealing. People love feeling close to whoever they are trying to follow so having a visual aid that makes the person or people within a company seem more "normal" and will make the viewer feel a stronger connection to whoever is reaching out.

One new thing on YouTube that many creators and companies can start using more is the Premiere feature. This feature allows whoever runs the account to do a live countdown on when the video airs and allows for comments and discussion on the side allowing people to discuss topics they may be expecting to see in the video. This allows for a video to be more hyped up and will gather a lot more traffic to your channel.
